Supported Platforms

VPE supports six streaming platforms: Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Each platform connects using its official API for real-time event delivery.

VPE translates platform-specific events into a common format. A Twitch 'cheer' and a YouTube 'Super Chat' are both treated as donations, so your automation works the same way everywhere.

You can connect any combination of platforms. Run all six simultaneously, or just the ones you use. VPE doesn't require all platforms to be active.

02

One Stream, All Platforms

When you multistream, events from all connected platforms are merged together. A raid on Twitch and a new member on YouTube are both handled by the same automation logic.

This means your automation rules work across all platforms without writing platform-specific logic. A policy that triggers an overlay for donations fires whether the donation comes from Twitch bits, YouTube Super Chats, or TikTok gifts.

Chat messages from all platforms are merged too. The chat energy score, spam detection, and bot responses work across the combined chat stream.

Tip

VPE normalizes currency amounts across platforms. A $10 Twitch donation and a $10 YouTube Super Chat are scored identically.

03

Connecting Your Accounts

Go to Settings → Streaming and connect each platform via OAuth. VPE never stores your passwords — it uses platform-approved OAuth tokens that you can revoke at any time.

For Twitch, VPE uses EventSub WebSocket — the same real-time system Twitch uses internally. Events arrive in under 1 second.

For platforms without real-time APIs (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram), VPE polls at configurable intervals (default: 3-5 seconds). TikTok and Kick use WebSocket connections for real-time delivery.

Platform-Specific Behavior

While VPE unifies events, you can still write platform-specific policies. For example, you might want a different celebration for Twitch raids vs. YouTube member joins.

Each platform exposes its full event set. Twitch provides 20+ event types (follows, subs, bits, raids, polls, predictions, etc.), while newer platforms like TikTok expose fewer but growing event types.

Platform status is visible in the Plugins panel. You can see connection health, event counts, and last-received timestamps for each platform independently.

05

Chat Across Platforms

VPE's chat bots can respond on all connected platforms. The moderator bot watches Twitch, YouTube, and Kick chat simultaneously. Spam detection works across the combined stream.

Chat messages include platform tags, so you know where each message came from. Bots can be configured to respond on the same platform the message came from, or broadcast to all.

Combined chat energy is used for moment detection. If Twitch chat and YouTube chat both spike at the same time, VPE sees that as a stronger signal than either alone.
